Almost exactly 10 years since my last journal entry, where I extolled the graces of the Philadelphia Eagles for making it to the Super Bowl. Which they lost, but I was still proud of them. I was all prepared to do the same thing again, but the Eagles surprised everybody but themselves and WON THE FREAKING SUPER BOWL! I'm still not completely believing it. It's not every day that something you were starting to think was not going to happen in your lifetime actually happens.
I could go on, but y'all have probably heard it all over the internet. I'll just sit back and have a soft pretzel and a hoagie from Wawa.
GO BIRDS!!!!

GO BIRDS!!!!
Almost
And thus ends a glorious run for the Eagles. Hard to come any closer, and against what I thought was a superior team, too. The city of Philadelphia and the Eagles organization have a lot to be proud of, and I will have no shame in wearing my Eagles paraphenalia.
So in preparation for next season, GO EAGLES!!!
EAGLES!!!!
:#1: In the Super Bowl! I can hardly believe it! :jawdrop: Might as well use all these emoticons while I can, for, much as I hate to say it, I really think the Patriots are the better team.
But who cares??? :winner: :w00t: :boogie: :highfive: :excited:
Here we go again
So Hurrican Jeanne, having missed on its first pass, has swung around for a second. And this time it's going to hit. If it follows the forecast path we'll be outside the hurricane force winds, but we'll still get plenty of wind and lots of rain :raincloud:. Storm shutters are up, hatches battened, all that. Could be worse: could be :snowing:.
UPDATE: We're through it. No damage this time. All the trees with weak roots must have been knocked down by Hurricane Frances a couple of weeks ago. Shutters down, and I'm exhausted.
Ruminations on 10 years of marriage
C-Novack (https://www.deviantart.com/c-novack) and I are very proud and happy to be celebrating 10 years of marriage this week. :boogie: It's an amazing thing. On the one hand it feels like we've been married forever, on the other hand it feels like we just got back from the honeymoon. As far as I can tell this is a Good Thing (tm). I thought I'd share some observations of things that we feel have worked, and hopefully will continue to work, over the years.
:bulletblue: Invest more of yourself and your resources to your marriage than to your wedding.
:bulletblue: Acknowledge that a marriage takes work and commit to working to make it work.
:bulletblue: Don't expect 10
